How broad is a brushstroke, how narrow is our concept of painting?
Christine Streuli’s extensive oeuvre captivates us with colourful, mostly monumental all-over paintings. A wall installation as well as a wallpaper with a retrospective character that questions the nature of an original versus a copy of an artwork are the main focus of this new solo show. How precisely must a painting fit onto a canvas? Where does a brushstroke end? Closer inspection of Streuli’s works inevitably makes us wonder about such things.
