Since 2006 contemporary art ruhr (C.A.R.) has evolved into a successful art fair. C.A.R. consists of two annual events which are taking place in several exhibit halls at Essen’s Zollverein World Cultural Heritage Site. The media art fair takes place between 29 – 31 May and the innovative fair for contemporary art between 30 October and 1 November 2015.
The first part of C.A.R., the Media Art Fair & Photo Special, 29 – 31 May 2015, takes place within the beautiful and unique atmosphere of the architectural master piece SANAA-building, a futuristic cube which was designed by the SANAA Japanese architectural firm (Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishiziwa), the 2010 Pritzker Prize winners. Innovative exhibitors present for the third time at the SANAA building video and media art, installations, multimedia projects but also photography as one main theme this year. Innovative galleries, art projects, art universities and a special choice of C.A.R. talents take part.
The Media Art Fair describes itself as a platform for staged exhibitions for extraordinary art. Video installations are presented in an exeptional atmosphere.
