The Royal Society of Sculptors will bring the cultural landscape of Kensington to life with a dynamic summer programme showcasing a diverse offering from its members created in lockdown. The programme takes place at Dora House, a beautiful listed building in South Kensington where the society is based.
The line up for 2021 includes:
The 2021 Summer Exhibition curated by Sigrid Kirk, inspired by the possibility of a new exuberant era for the arts, drawing a parallel between the 1920s and 2020s.
‘More Than You Might Expect’, Sophie Kemp’s new site specific work inspired by iced gem biscuits. Installed in the sculpture terrace, Kemp’s large scale sculpture is a playful response to Dora House as a jewel-like and architecturally embellished form.
‘10gram Challenge’ a display of the works from a lockdown project where artists were challenged to produce a small scale sculpture from a 10 gram piece of wax which was cast in bronze.
