An abstract form which contours are more much more related to animal and plant configurations than to geometric shapes. A good example is the works of the sculptor and painter Hans Arp (1887-1966). Biomorphic form suggest vermicular relationships and appear organic in nature.
Biomorphism is an art movement from the 20th century. It models artistic design elements on naturally occurring patterns or shapes reminiscent of nature. This type of biomimicry or biomorphic form was evident in the works of the Catalin artist and architect Antoni Gaudì, and has been associated with the sculptors Henry Moore, and Barbara Hepworth.
