Cubo-futurism

A term that first appeared in a lecture by Russian art critic Korney Chukovsky in 1913.

He referred to Russian artists who were influenced by two sources:
1 the French Cubism, and
2 Italian Futurism.

Subsequently, art historians have adopted the art term to pinpoint such work from Russia created between the years of 1912 and 1915. Today cubo-futirism is regarded as a transitionary phase towards Suprematism.
