Catalan expression meaning the seventh side of the dice. For those of you who can count, it is one face too many on a dice, and at the same time it is the name for a Catalan art movement. Catalunya is part of present-day Spain, and the art group appeared in Barcelona in 1948 as inspired by Joan Barossa. As an avant garde movement it had some tie in with both Dadaism and Surrealism.
The artists involved actively involved were Antoni Tàpies, Antonio Saura, Armau Puig. They were at first influenced by the works of Joan Miró and Paul Klee.
