Letterism – Lettrisme A French art movement founded by Isidore Isou and Gabriel Pomerand in 1944. Letterim has from the beginning been theorising poetry fil and painting with much gusto. Intellectually it is founded on DaDa and Surrealism. Noteable ideas where that of enabling the audience to take part in the creation of a work of art. Another was the notion of art which had merit, because it could be thought of and speculated about, and that even if it could not physically be created.
