Mixed media

In visual arts, mixed media refers to an artwork produced with more than one medium.
Any or all artist media and found objects could be applied in this type of art. E.g. it could be one happy mix of two or more of the following: charcoal, collage cuttings, acrylic paint, oil paint, pencil, ink, print etc.

Chemically, today’s mixed media productions are mixed blessings to future art restorers, but with modern digital reproduction of limited editions, the results can achieve something that more conventional art of archival quality cannot. Much Dada, Arte Povera and Fluxus art would fit comfortably into this category.
