A group of artists working in Cologne (Köln) from late 14th century to mid 16th century. Their work is mainly evident in local churches, where they stayed with a stylised type of representation long after Flemish and Dutch art had turned more relaistic in their approaches. The more famous of the painters from Cologne were Stefan Lochner and Bartholomaeus Bruyn.
